- Sorry mate but your girlfriend is mostly talking bollocks here. I was born in Lublin and I think I know a bit about its history. BTW there was a really good Lublin band back in the old days - "Budka Suflera". One of their greatest hits in the 80ties was "Nie wierz nigdy kobiecie" - Never believe a woman. Kind of fits.. :) Good luck with your further exploration of this fascinating but troubled country - hopefully with a better guide next time.

- It's not "downtown Lublin", it's Centrum. Graffiti is just about gone. You missed the fountain at night? Lublin best in June-Sept. Lot's happening.

It looks the same as then, but much updates. McD, KFC, BK all taste the same as in NY. Pizza Hut is a disaster.

Everything was not destroyed. A trip to Majdanek and you would see. They show Lublin during the occupation and now.

There are plaques all over the place explaining what the building is and history.

Mostly people were executed by the Germans.

When Israel became a country, Jews migrated back.
The church that was "bombed" really wasn't. It was made of wood and burned. There is a model up on the left with the history.

- Currently researching/ learning about my family during the holocaust. While fleeing the Nazis they landed up in Lublin for several years. Your vlog, has helped me understand some of what my grandfather saw as a young man. thanks for the upload!
